Yes, he's 17 1/2 years old. Not exactly Captain material for an Intergallicta Unified Battle Cruiser, but what can he say? I mean his father (and not to his knowledge as of yet) was a great man. Brilliant Officer and a damn good warrior. But he had a weakness and that was Marcus' older brother, Gabe - who in his own right is a damn good warrior himself. You see the Father got himself and his first mate killed - his own brother. And there's no one available to take the helm this far out in space away from Terran. So they picked up Marcus at the Higer Research Space Station, gave him this nifty uniform and are meeting with him in the captain's quarters. Gotta tell the kid what's going on - in 2 days they rendezvous with the Malki - the one's currently torturing his older brother and well, the mission will most likely be a body recovery than a rescue. All this and he's just a teenager. So you can imagine what's going thru his head at this moment.
